Origin and Collaboration
Chilcuague, also known as Heliopsis longipes or Aztec Gold Root, grows in the mountainous regions of central Mexico, particularly in the Sierra Gorda. For generations it has formed part of local knowledge and everyday traditions, and in many communities it is still known simply as the golden root.
The plant is cultivated by local farmers on small plots of land and harvested carefully by hand, root by root, once the plants have had the time they need to mature. Knowledge of its cultivation, drying and processing is passed down from one generation to the next, helping preserve the quality and the authenticity of the root.
Through our collaboration with Raíz Selvas and local producers, CHAKA brings Chilcuague products to Europe while supporting responsible cultivation, direct and lasting relationships, and the continuation of this regional heritage — so that the people who grow the root remain part of its journey.

The Chilcuague Spray is not suitable for children, as it is extracted in alcohol. For children, we recommend the Chilcuague Oil, in which the root is gently extracted in avocado oil.
